I used to ask myself that question too.
Â
Not once - but over and over again.
Â
Sometimes in the middle of the night, wide awake and heart racing after an evening of drinking.
Sometimes on the school run.
Sometimes on a quiet Tuesday, when nothing dramatic had happened… but the question bubbled up again as I opened another bottle of wine.Â
And because it's such an uncomfortable question, I did what so many of us do:
I kicked it down the road, with “I’ll cut back next week”
I rationalised my drinking as 'normal'
I overrode my own intuition
But that question rarely goes away on its own.
It keeps circling back - not to shame you, but to tell you something.
This guide is for that moment.
Â
It helps you gently explore:
✨ Why this question keeps coming up
✨ Why its not the question we should be asking
✨ The “messy middle” where most people actually live
✨ How drinking is genuinely affecting you
✨ A simple 8-area check-in, to reveal the bigger pictureÂ
It’s about seeing your life clearly - so you can understand whether alcohol is quietly taking more than it’s giving.
Not to judge yourself…
but to understand yourself.
No labels. No judgement. No pressure to change.
Just a gentle, intelligent place to start.

Â
I'm a Life Coach and certified Alcohol Mindset Coach, trained in Affective Liminal Psychology. Previously, I worked for 25+ years as a strategic planner in the advertising industry - where my job was to uncover the deep, often unspoken desires, that drive human behaviour.
I help curious individuals reshape their relationship with drinking and step into a life that they don't want to escape from. Drawing on my own alcohol journey, my strategic background, and my training with Annie Grace (This Naked Mind), my coaching goes far beyond the question: “To quit, or not to quit?” I work with clients to uncover the deeper needs and desires beneath the habit - using psychology, reflection tools, and identity-based coaching to support lasting change. The result? More clarity. More autonomy. More purpose.
My approach, explored in my forthcoming book 'What Are You Thirsty For?', ultimately helps my clients build a better toolbox and design a more intentional, fulfilling life.
I’m also the host of a highly acclaimed podcast 'The Big Drink Rethink' - a show that helps listeners question their relationship with alcohol, regardless of whether they want to quit, drink less, take a break, or just explore the role it plays in their life. Gently, intelligently, without pressure, and in a way that opens up possibilities.Â
